There are many organizations that have agility programs. All of
them vary to different extents. Mixed breeds can compete in all of the organizations
but the AKC. Of all the things a person and their dog can compete in, agility is by
far the most mixed breed friendly one.
My dogs have a blast doing agility. I think it has helped Sadie's
confidence. She is slow and accurate but she is getting faster and maintaining the
accuracy she started with. And I can actually think about where I'm going when I'm
Copper on the other hand is control challenged. He
the speed but lacks the control and accuracy that Sadie has. He has too much fun on
They both have earned their U-AGII titles through the UKC. Unfortunately UKC agility hasn't started in this area yet so we
have to travel for those shows.
Sadie earned her S-NAC-V, O-NJC-V, and O-NGC-V in NADAC before
I retired her. Copper has earned his NAC, NJC, and NGC in NADAC.
We've entered a few USDAA trials but have yet to qualify. It might
increase our chances if I would remember that there is a table in the courses.
